Our mission has always been helping homeowners connect with reliable service providers; with the launch of the Remote Home Services industry, we are marking a step-change in the traditional in-person only model - driving greater efficiency, advocacy, and most of all, safety - to both homeowners and service pros.

Many jobs do not require an-in person visit. For an initial video call, there are generally three possible outcomes:

Quick Fix

Sometimes, there’s an easy fix: try replacing the batteries in the thermostat, try flipping the circuit breaker, check to see if a little WD-40 will fix it, see if you can tighten the screw on the fan assembly.

Remotely Guided Fix

Sometimes, there’s an intermediate fix that still doesn’t require an in-person visit:

  • Get a circuit tester and once you get it, here’s how to use it
  • Buy the flange and I can walk you through how to fix it
  • Unscrew the casing off the door and buy the replacement tube and I’ll walk you through how to reconnect it

Confirmation that In-Person Visit Required + Guidance on Next Steps

Sometimes, the Homeowner does have a real problem that needs complex repair - entirely new electrical wiring, digging up a sewer line, installing a new water heater. In these cases, the goal of the call shifts to arming the Homeowner with the knowledge of what should be done, roughly how much it should cost, and what to look for in a service provider.

We use a Calendar Scheduling tool that is easy and flexible for both Pros and Homeowners. The Pro can specify their availability and sync with their calendar to avoid double bookings. The tool also allows you to select the amount of time between bookings, as well as how much notice you need before the start of a consultation.
